Earlier this year, LIDS Foundation granted $5,000 to organization Hope Loves Company.
"Hope Loves Company (HLC) is the only non-profit in the U.S. with the mission of providing educational and emotional support to children and young adults who had or have a loved one battling Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) or Lou Gehrig's disease."
Because of the grant, HLC was able to bring their camp to Indiana for the 2nd year in a row. We love this organization and are so proud we were able to be a part of the camp.
We had volunteers at the "big swing" and canoeing! The kids seemed to have a great time!
From Jodi O'Donnell-Ames, President and Founder:
"Hope Loves Company, Inc. would like to thank the LIDS Foundation of Indiana for their support of our Camp HLC program at Flatrock River YMCA in Indiana. With the help of a LIDS grant of $10,000 and additional sponsors, Hope Loves Company was able to provide a week long camp and ALS support to 30 children whose lives have been affected by ALS. We were fortunate to have some members of the LIDS team come join us for a day of canoeing and exploring at Flat Rock. HLC campers had the opportunity to attend camp for a full week, free of charge, enjoying swimming, rockclimbing, arts and crafts and more. During the Hope Loves Company program portion of the camp, campers got to talk about balance, support and how their lives have been affected by ALS. We are extremely grateful for this experience and for LIDS continued involvement! What a compassionate and caring team you are!"
