LIDS Sports Group field employees had the pleasure of delivering the grant checks from the Tip the Hat Award in April.
Playsmart based in Omaha, Nebraska won 4th place with the amount of $25,000. Associates in the Omaha area joined Playsmart staff at their base program - Leadership Academy. At this Leadership Academy, Playsmart invites rural, suburban, and inner city students together for an experience of learning they have potential and how they can take these new skills back to the classroom, courts and fields!
Chad Soupir, Regional Director of Playsmart Omaha, was excited to meet some of the LIDS team and receive the Tip the Hat funds in front of tons of kids! "It takes a lot of hard work and a supportive robust partnership with LIDS to make this happen for kids," said Soupir. "I loved learning more about LIDS today and the culture it was founded on!"
Associates from the Charlotte, North Carolina area were able to meet staff and tour the Girls on the Run International office this past week. Girls on the Run International won 3rd place in the Tip the Hat Award competition with an amount of $50,000. Girls on the Run has chapters all across the country. Their mission is to "inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based cirriculum which creatively integrates running".
Nathan Potter, District Manager for LIDS Sports Group, said, "It was an amazing experience to see the impact we make through our LIDS Foundation efforts first hand!"
Congratulations again to our Tip the Hat winners!
